Actech International Pty Ltd is a manufacturer of local and imported Cast in Plates.
Actech has the widest range of imported plates stock in our 4 distribution centres.
We ensure our overseas manufacturing facilities comply with the requirements of sourcing:
Mill certificates for each plate and bar source are recorded and stored with each production.
To ensure these raw materials are correct, we also take samples of the plates and have them tested by local NATA laboratories to confirm their conformance to the required standards. Copies of these test reports are attached which support our minimum standards.
All Imported plates by default have 6mm CFW welds.
Our local production is based on as required plates according to each engineered requirement.
To ensure the integrity of our local products we always source a minimum of Grade 300 steel plates, and use ACRS sourced 500N grade steel reinfrocement.
By default, all welds are min 6mm CFW unless CPBW/FSBW is requested or marked on the drawings. If a special weld method or test method is required, the customer should supply this at the time of ordering.
We have tested our CFW capacity to determine if the CFW perform as well as a CPBW/FSBW.
We tested 4 plates with an independent NATA facility – 2 with CFW and 2 with FSBW – and found that the CFW plates meet or exceeded the strength of FSBW.

Quite often we get asked to provide design calculations for cast in plates that we stock. The reality is that there are so many different situations a cast in plate can be used in a precast connection including:
Additionally, each panel is joined to another panel of unknown connection means (bolted only, welded, bolted and welded), and may be used for alignment as much as load bearing requirements such as carrying supporting loads like steel members.
All these variables are within the control of the structural engineer for the building, and accordingly, we refer our enquiries for calculations back to the structural engineer for the project as they have the full view of the project and its requirements.
